“Wait, I thought this one was mine?” I held the large cup with both hands. “Oh, okay.” Olly turned, probably to order another one. I wrapped my hand around his bicep and tugged him away from the woman waiting for his order. “We’re good. Thank you so much.” I handed him the cup. “Do you really think I can eat all this by myself?” “My money is on you,” a voice said behind us.

Chapter Eighteen

We took the two steps up to the platform and waited for our seats. “I should probably tell you now…” “Wait, you really are afraid of heights, aren’t you?” Jules gasped and turned to face me. “No, not necessarily.” I squeezed her hand. “I do find the ride a bit uncomfortable, especially at the top.” Memories of the last time I had been on the Ferris Wheel flooded my mind. “Let’s skip it. It’s fine.” She tried to turn and leave.

“What should we have first?” Once we walked through the entrance, Olly stopped and turned to face me. “Or should we go on a ride first?” I glanced around for a moment to get the lay of the land. Right in front of us were several options for something to eat. “It’s funny how they put the food at the entrance.” “It’s like they want you to vomit on one of the rides.” Olly shook his head. “Right?” I laughed. “I’m not hungry right now. Are you?”

Chapter Sixteen

“You...” Jules had opened the front door as I was walking up the steps. I stopped on the middle step. “You, um…” Her hands brushed over the fabric on her arm and over her stomach. “Is something wrong?” “No, not at all.” I finished walking up the steps and stopped a few inches from where she was standing. “You look…beautiful.” She dropped her head. “Yeah?” When she lifted her head, she was smiling. “I almost wore a dress.”
