“Tell me, what are your thoughts regarding a carpool?” Olly leaned a hip against the bathroom doorframe and ran his hands through his hair.
I opened a drawer and grabbed a comb. “Here.” I leaned up on my tippy toes and kissed him. “Carpool, huh? Well, is it considered a carpool when only two people are present?”
“Hmmm…good question.” He pulled out his phone from his back pocket. “Let’s see what Mr. Internet says about that.”
“Mr. Internet.” I laughed at the name and grabbed my toothbrush and toothpaste. “Wait a minute, you didn’t, did you?” I held up my toothbrush.
“Nope.” When he never looked up from his phone, I knew he was lying.
“Oh my shit, you did.” My voice went up several octaves. I grabbed his phone, threw it on the floor, and pushed him onto the bed. “If—” I straddled him and pushed my hands down on his chest— “you would’ve asked me. I had two in the cabinet.”
You could see by the surprise expression on his face that he was trying not to laugh. “Oh, I figured…” I pushed my hands up and down on his chest. “Okay, okay.” He wrapped his hands around mine to stop me.
It was hard to keep a straight face and look angry.
“Olly,” I slowly said each syllable of his name. “How could you?” That’s when I lost it and burst out laughing.
He leaned up and wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me down onto the bed. “If I promise never to do it again—” I attempted to say something, but he put his index finger over my mouth— “can I spend the night tonight?”
I was now in a fit of giggles, and he wasn’t making it any easier by tickling me. “Olly,” I said his name again, and rested my forehead on his chest.
“Do we have a deal?” He poked his finger against my side.
“Yes.” I lifted my head and grabbed his hand to make him stop. “How could you?”
“Well, to be honest, I was hoping you wouldn’t notice.” He closed his eyes and shook his head. “Plus, you kiss me, so I figured it would be okay.”
I patted his cheek with the palm of my hand. “It is okay,” I said, untangling myself and climbing off the bed.
“Wait, what?” He gasped and jumped up to pull me back onto the mattress.

Yup, I was late for work…
“There you are.” Stacy was outside sweeping the sidewalk when I finally arrived. “And you’re with Olly. Interesting.” She winked. “Good morning.” She bent down to be eye level with him and waved.
My friend tried to ask us more questions, but I put my hand over her mouth to stop her. “I’ll see you later, right?” I pushed her away and rested my forearms on the edge of the window. “If you’re busy, Stacy can take me home.”
“Nope, I’ll be here.” He reached out his hand. “My mom has been asking about you.”
“Let’s go see her tonight?” I paused for a beat. “At her house, right?”
“Yup, she’s home. I got a text message this morning.” He squeezed my hand, and I stepped back. “Perfect. Then, I’ll see you later.”
He drove away, and Stacy sighed, “I want that.” She used both hands and leaned on the broom handle.
“Want what?” I turned to face her.
“That.” She waved her hand at where Olly had just been parked and then at me. “You two. That.”
“What about the guy you started dating last month?” I didn’t mean to scowl, but she seemed so excited about him.
“He’s not into animals, and he hates eating dessert.” She rolled her eyes.
“All desserts?” I shook my head. “That feels a bit extreme.”
“That’s what I said.” She pushed her hand against my shoulder. “It’s true, though. He said, he loves anything salty, hates everything sweet.”
I looped my arm with hers. “Well, good riddance to him.” As we stepped inside The Market, I noticed Ryan restocking the mushrooms. “We need to work on this situation.” I squeezed her arm.
“I’m not signing up for another dating app, though.” She rolled her eyes. “And you can’t make me.”
“No more dating apps.” I nodded. “I promise.”
AUTHOR NOTE: I have been wanting to add a new couple, but I didn’t know who the lucky couple would be. My goal is to have this couple be a slow burn. Take time to find each other and take time to get together. Adding some spice to the story will be so fun. Now, how do we find Stacy a man? Thoughts?
